Towns we list in Gwynedd & Anglesey
We work right across Wales, and Gwynedd & Anglesey is covered on the same footing as everywhere else. There is no showroom or depot to visit. The survey happens at your property or, for fit-only jobs, from your photos. If your address is remote or reached by ferry, tell us early and we will confirm what arrangement is needed before quoting.
Included in the work
- Insulation fitted to the upstand faces to limit heat loss
- Treated timber frame fixed down to the deck and joists
- Kerb sized from the maker's drawing, internal and external dimensions both checked
- Fall built in or level — We confirm whether your rooflight needs the kerb to provide a fall or should sit level.
- Height above the finished roof — We set the upstand so it stands at least 150 mm above the finished roof, measured from the top of any ballast, paving or walkway.
Rules that apply in Wales
In Wales, a new rooflight opening generally needs building regulations approval, and a replacement needs either a scheme-registered installer's certificate or a building notice to the council. We are not registered with a scheme, so we use a building notice and show the fee on the quote. Rooflights must meet 2.2 W/m²K and roof windows 1.4 W/m²K. Planning is tighter than in England: rooflights are not permitted development in conservation areas, National Parks, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty or World Heritage Sites, so we check your address before quoting.
Common questions in Gwynedd & Anglesey
Do you offer trade rates for builders and roofers?
We carry out subcontract fitting for builders, roofers, extension companies and commercial contractors. Pricing is per job or per schedule of units, agreed in writing before we start. We can work to your programme, fit on your upstand or build our own, and leave the opening ready for the next trade. Send drawings or a unit schedule and we will come back with a trade quote.
Do you cover Gwynedd & Anglesey?
Yes. Fitters travel to addresses in Gwynedd & Anglesey and the surrounding districts, including LL postcodes. We do not run an office there; the survey and the fitting happen at your property. A few island and remote postcodes are covered by arrangement; if yours is one, we confirm travel and dates before quoting.
Does a rooflight need building regulations approval?
In Wales a new opening generally needs building regulations approval. A replacement must be self-certified by a scheme-registered installer or covered by a building notice. We are not registered with a scheme, so replacements we fit go through a building notice, and the council's fee is shown on your quote.
