Who you contract with
This website is provided by S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, trading as RooflightInstallers.co.uk (company number 16932889, registered office Unit 1 Hembs Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG). When you accept a written quote, your contract is with S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd. Fitting is carried out by fitting teams working under our direction, and we remain responsible for the work.
Prices on this website
Prices on this site and from the guide price tool are guide ranges, not offers. Prices include VAT at 20%. Trade fitting rates are shown plus VAT. Your price is the one on your written quote, which is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise.
Quotes and changes
Your quote lists what is included and what isn't. If we find something on the day that couldn't reasonably be seen beforehand — for example rotten timber under the old kerb — we stop, show you and agree the cost before doing extra work.
Payment
Deposits and stage payments, if any, are set out on your quote. Fit-only work is normally paid on completion.
Cancelling
If you agree the contract away from our premises or at a distance, you have 14 days from the day after the contract is agreed to cancel. To cancel, email info@rooflightinstallers.co.uk or write to S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, Unit 1 Hembs Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG; a model cancellation form comes with your quote. If you ask us in writing to start work within the 14 days and then cancel, you pay for work done up to that point. A rooflight made to your own measurements or specification can't be cancelled once we have ordered it at your request; standard-size units can be cancelled in the usual way.
Rooflights you supply
For fit-only work, the product and its warranty are the responsibility of the maker or seller. We check the unit on the day; if it is damaged or doesn't match the order we won't fit it, and you will need to take that up with the seller. Our workmanship guarantee covers our fitting.
Our guarantee
We guarantee our workmanship on the terms set out on your quote. This is in addition to your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which require us to carry out the work with reasonable care and skill.
Access and site
Please make sure we can get to the roof and the room, and tell us about anything that could affect the work, such as fragile roofs, asbestos or restricted parking. Scaffold or lifting equipment, if needed, is shown on your quote.
Liability
We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that can't be limited by law.
Complaints and law
Tell us first at info@rooflightinstallers.co.uk and we will try to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you keep the protection of your local law and courts.
