Towns we list in County Armagh
Coverage in County Armagh works by postcode, not by distance from an office. Give us the full postcode and we will confirm whether it is standard cover, as it is for most of Northern Ireland, or one of the few remote and island areas handled by arrangement. Either way, you get a written quote before any work is booked, with travel included in the price.
What we do on the day
- Tiles or slates cut and refitted neatly around the flashing
- Window frame fixed on its brackets, square and at the right height
- Flashing kit matched to tiles, slates or a recessed fit
- Side slopes and neighbours — We check which slope the window is going on before you commit.
- Head height and view — We think about how the window will be used from inside before fixing its height.
Rules that apply in Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland has its own rules. Permitted development for rooflights on a house requires the unit to sit below the highest part of the roof, project no more than 15 cm where the slope faces a road, and stay at least half a metre from the ridge, eaves, party wall and verge. It doesn't apply in conservation areas or within the grounds of a listed building. For building control, structural roof alterations need an application, and rooflights must meet WER Band C or 1.6 W/m²K.
Common questions in County Armagh
Can you fit a rooflight in winter or when it is raining?
Yes, within limits. Cold is less of a problem than wet, because membranes, primers and sealants need a dry surface to bond. We plan fitting days around the forecast and may move a date if heavy rain is due. If the roof has to be opened up, it is not left overnight without a temporary weather seal, so the room below stays dry while the work is finished.
Do you cover County Armagh?
Yes. Fitters travel to addresses in County Armagh and the surrounding districts, including BT postcodes. We do not run an office there; the survey and the fitting happen at your property. A few island and remote postcodes are covered by arrangement; if yours is one, we confirm travel and dates before quoting.
What is included in the price?
The written quote lists it line by line. Typically that covers fitting labour, fixings, sealants, membrane or flashing materials, any upstand work, internal finishing if agreed, and taking away the waste. For supply and fit, the unit itself is included too. Scaffold, lifting gear and any third-party fees, where needed, are shown separately so you can see what each part of the job costs.
