Towns we list in Dyfed
Coverage in Dyfed works by postcode, not by distance from an office. Give us the full postcode and we will confirm whether it is standard cover, as it is for most of Wales, or one of the few remote and island areas handled by arrangement. Either way, you get a written quote before any work is booked, with travel included in the price.

What the job includes
- Fall set in the upstand so rain clears the oversailing glass edge
- Kerb squared across the diagonals before the glass is ordered or fitted
- Lifting gear arranged for heavy single panes where two people cannot safely carry
- Glass weight and access — We plan the lift for a frameless pane before the delivery is booked.
- How the reveal will look — We agree the finish at the glass edge before building anything.
Rules that apply in Wales
In Wales, a new rooflight opening generally needs building regulations approval, and a replacement needs either a scheme-registered installer's certificate or a building notice to the council. We are not registered with a scheme, so we use a building notice and show the fee on the quote. Rooflights must meet 2.2 W/m²K and roof windows 1.4 W/m²K. Planning is tighter than in England: rooflights are not permitted development in conservation areas, National Parks, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty or World Heritage Sites, so we check your address before quoting.
Common questions in Dyfed
Can you replace an old dome without redoing the whole roof?
Usually, yes. If the existing kerb is sound, level and tall enough, a new unit can often sit on it with a fresh seal to the roof covering. If the kerb is rotten or too low, we rebuild it and patch the covering around it rather than stripping the whole roof. This is checked at the survey and included in the written quote, so you know the full scope first.
How long does fitting take?
Fitting a frameless rooflight into an existing, correctly sized opening is often a day's work. New openings take longer, because joists or rafters need trimming, an upstand or flashing has to be built or fitted, and the inside needs finishing. Large units that need lifting gear, and days lost to rain, can stretch things further. Your written quote gives a realistic estimate for your roof.
Do you cover Dyfed?
Yes. Fitters travel to addresses in Dyfed and the surrounding districts, including SA and SY postcodes. We do not run an office there; the survey and the fitting happen at your property. A few island and remote postcodes are covered by arrangement; if yours is one, we confirm travel and dates before quoting.
