Towns we list in Clwyd

Clwyd is part of our normal coverage in Wales. Fitting teams travel out to the property, so a town-centre terrace and a house down a farm track are treated alike, as long as a fitter can get the unit to the roof safely. Dates are offered according to fitter availability, and the cost of travel is already in your written quote.

What we do on the day

Membrane, felt or GRP finished to the frame the way the maker shows
Upstand checked or built to the maker's internal and external sizes
Lifting gear or extra hands arranged for large and heavy panes
Solar gain on south-facing roofs — We ask which way the roof faces and how the room is used before suggesting glass.
Pitch of the glass — We make sure the glass will sit at the pitch its maker asks for.

Rules that apply in Wales

Wales sets energy limits of 2.2 W/m²K for rooflights and 1.4 W/m²K for roof windows, and new rooflight openings generally need building regulations approval. Replacement units are controlled fittings; we are not registered with a competent person scheme, so ours are covered by a building notice to the council. Planning permission is needed for rooflights in conservation areas, National Parks, AONBs and World Heritage Sites. We check which applies and include the fee in your quote.

Common questions in Clwyd

Can you fit the flat rooflight I bought online?

Yes, fit-only is one of our core services. Send the product link or spec, photos of the roof and rough sizes, and we can usually price it from those. Before fitting we check the delivery for damage, which should be reported to the seller, plus the size against the builder's opening and the upstand height. The product warranty stays with the maker or seller, and our guarantee covers the fitting.

How long does fitting take?

Fitting a flat rooflight into an existing, correctly sized opening is often a day's work. New openings take longer, because joists or rafters need trimming, an upstand or flashing has to be built or fitted, and the inside needs finishing. Large units that need lifting gear, and days lost to rain, can stretch things further. Your written quote gives a realistic estimate for your roof.

Do you cover Clwyd?

Yes. Fitters travel to addresses in Clwyd and the surrounding districts, including CH and LL postcodes. We do not run an office there; the survey and the fitting happen at your property. A few island and remote postcodes are covered by arrangement; if yours is one, we confirm travel and dates before quoting.
