Towns we list in Gloucestershire
We work right across England, and Gloucestershire is covered on the same footing as everywhere else. There is no showroom or depot to visit. The survey happens at your property or, for fit-only jobs, from your photos. If your address is remote or reached by ferry, tell us early and we will confirm what arrangement is needed before quoting.

What we do on the day
- Roof membrane, felt or tiles made good and dressed up the upstand
- Opening marked out, covering stripped back and the deck cut cleanly
- Plasterboard reveals formed inside and left ready for skim or decoration
- Upstand energy performance — We build the upstand to meet the energy limit for site-built upstands, not just to hold the rooflight up.
- Which way the joists run — We check the direction and size of the joists before fixing the rooflight's position.
Rules that apply in England
In England, a new rooflight opening generally needs building regulations approval because the roof structure is altered and the glazing must meet energy rules: 2.2 W/m²K for a rooflight in an existing home, or 1.4 W/m²K (or WER Band B) for a roof window. Planning is often not needed on a house: permitted development covers rooflights that stand no more than 0.15 m proud of the roof slope and sit below the highest part of the roof. Flats, listed buildings and areas with an Article 4 direction are different, so we check your address first.
Common questions in Gloucestershire
Will my new rooflight leak?
A correctly fitted unit should not. Leaks usually trace back to the detail around the frame: an upstand that is too low, a membrane or flashing that is not dressed properly, sealant applied to a damp surface, or water ponding against the kerb. We fit to the maker's instructions and check each of those points. The fitting carries a written workmanship guarantee, with its terms set out on your quote.
Can you fit a rooflight in winter or when it is raining?
Yes, within limits. Cold is less of a problem than wet, because membranes, primers and sealants need a dry surface to bond. We plan fitting days around the forecast and may move a date if heavy rain is due. If the roof has to be opened up, it is not left overnight without a temporary weather seal, so the room below stays dry while the work is finished.
Do you cover Gloucestershire?
Yes. Fitters travel to addresses in Gloucestershire and the surrounding districts, including BS and GL postcodes. We do not run an office there; the survey and the fitting happen at your property. A few island and remote postcodes are covered by arrangement; if yours is one, we confirm travel and dates before quoting.
