Towns we list in County Fermanagh
Coverage in County Fermanagh works by postcode, not by distance from an office. Give us the full postcode and we will confirm whether it is standard cover, as it is for most of Northern Ireland, or one of the few remote and island areas handled by arrangement. Either way, you get a written quote before any work is booked, with travel included in the price.
What the job includes
- Roof covering turned up and finished under the glass overhang
- Glass bedded on the specified tape or sealant and fixed through the concealed frame
- Fall set in the upstand so rain clears the oversailing glass edge
- Glass weight and access — We plan the lift for a frameless pane before the delivery is booked.
- Laminated inner pane — We confirm the inner pane is laminated or otherwise suited to being overhead.
Rules that apply in Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland has its own rules. Permitted development for rooflights on a house requires the unit to sit below the highest part of the roof, project no more than 15 cm where the slope faces a road, and stay at least half a metre from the ridge, eaves, party wall and verge. It doesn't apply in conservation areas or within the grounds of a listed building. For building control, structural roof alterations need an application, and rooflights must meet WER Band C or 1.6 W/m²K.
Common questions in County Fermanagh
Do you need scaffolding to fit a rooflight?
Not always. Single-storey roofs can often be reached safely with ladders, a tower or edge protection. Higher roofs, steep pitches and large units usually need scaffold or a mobile platform, and heavy glass may need a crane. We assess access from your photos or at the survey, and any scaffold or lifting cost is shown as its own line on the written quote.
What upstand height and roof pitch does frameless rooflight fitting need?
It depends on the product. Manufacturers usually specify a minimum upstand height above the finished roof surface, and a minimum pitch on the glass so rain runs off. We follow the maker's figures for your unit rather than a rule of thumb. If your existing kerb or roof falls short, we explain the options, such as raising the upstand or choosing a unit with built-in pitch.
Do you cover County Fermanagh?
Yes. Fitters travel to addresses in County Fermanagh and the surrounding districts, including BT postcodes. We do not run an office there; the survey and the fitting happen at your property. A few island and remote postcodes are covered by arrangement; if yours is one, we confirm travel and dates before quoting.
